Sakonnet Vineyard…a little taste of heaven.
I don’t exactly have a bucket list, but if I did the Sakonnet Vineyard would be on it…. and now checked off! I spent Sunday at the vineyard and winery. Where do I begin? The food was amazing. I ate the best crab cake I have ever had. It was a special addition to the menu for that day and it was a taste of perfection. The local, fresh, flavors were exquisite. The wood grilled pizzas are to die for and once I had a sip of chilled white wine, I knew I was in heaven for the day. Part of the sheer enjoyment was the scenery alone. The dozens (of what looked like) hand made wood chairs and tables that were set along the property for guests to enjoy were so charming. It was peaceful and had a great energy at the same time. I felt like I was enjoying a glass of wine while sitting in Papa Bear’s chair. The Berenstein Bears is a favorite in our house! I imagine my children would have loved the big welcoming wood chairs as well. It was a gorgeous July day with a breeze. I could have sat in the vineyard for hours as I image folks do. I will be back before the summer ends. Hopefully several more times.
If you are in the area on vacation or live in Rhode Island it is well worth the gorgeous ride to Little Compton to experience Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vinyard.
