For those of you who have never heard of Project Undercover prepare to be amazed. In the state of Rhode Island alone over 45,000 children don’t have access to clean, new underwear, socks and diapers. Project undercover provides these bare necessities to children living in poverty. This amazing organization aims in 2015 to provide 1 million diapers and 180,000 pairs of socks and underwear to over two dozen partner agencies in Providence and around the state. Their belief is that every children deserves a clean, dry bottom and I couldn’t agree more!
Last night I had the pleasure or working and attending “A taste of summer.” It was Project Undercover’s annual fundraiser and the hottest event to close out the summer! Over 200 people gathered together for an evening of food, fun, and music at the beautiful Aqua at the Providence Marriott. I sampled delicious tastings from The Capital Grill, The Duck & Bunny, Sicilia’s Pizzeria, La Creperie, The Backyard Food Company, Wes’ Rib House and the Trinity Brewhouse.
The tasting ranged from delicious spreads of sweet relish on toast to lobster macaroni and cheese to pulled pork sandwiches. There were yummy petite cupcakes and crepes perfectly portioned for guest to enjoy. All just amazing! We enjoyed cocktails while listening to the smooth jazz of Travis Colby and Doug Woolverton all is support of a great cause. I was honored to witness the generosity of the guests who attended and was very proud to support a dear friend of mine who puts so much time and effort into such an outstanding cause.
